Twisted Ankle

Posted in Uncategorized by Mike on September 6, 2009

I twisted my ankle pretty good on Tuesday. Nothing special, walking and talking and came off a curb wrong and gave it a good twist. Folks were concerned I have destroyed something but I used to roll my ankle all the time as kid so I’m used to the feeling of a twist and it wasn’t anything worse than that. I used some ibuprofen and ice and avoided any noticeable swelling. It was pretty tender on Wednesday so I skipped the workout.

Yesterday I should have trained but just managed to fill up my day. It happens on a lot of Saturdays.

Today, Providence with a 16K kettlebell. I was feeling really good until I hit about round 10 where the tactical lunges come in. I was taking a full stop between each rep towards the end of the round. The seated press was hard too although I managed it. The triple crush was ridiculous as it always is.The 3 minute snatch test yielded something like 65.

I started to work on a little workout builder app last week but got distracted when I went off the learn jQuery for some work stuff. I’ll have to try and make a little time for it this week. I’d like to have something functional if not complete this month.

No one seems to want to play when it comes to my juggling contest. I’m a bit disappointed. I’m torn between trying out some aggressive promotion or let it just die with a whimper.

I attempted to cook Swiss Chard today for the first time. Not a huge success. The olive oil didn’t take on the garlic flavor it was supposed to. The chard was so-so although I should have left the stems out of the business and just used leaves. The really wilty bits were pretty good with a bit of balsamic vinegar thrown on them. I have a cheap bottle of the stuff that is surprisingly good. Tomorrow is Ellie Krieger’s Sloppy Joe which is always two parts awesome and one part yumm. It’s like a chili you could stand up a spoon in. I tend to just eat it out of a bowl rather than on a bun.

    Hi! Mike,

I am sorry about the ankle. You are like Ben in that regard.

When I was growing up on the farm, my mom would grow Swiss Chard in the garden. & she would make it with bits of bacon and vinegar.

Hope you have a good week.
