Mad Skills

Posted in Uncategorized by Mike on January 5, 2009

I’m dubbing what I did today as “skills practice”. Basically, I did some balancing, standing on one foot. I moved on to some plancks that went from regular to picking up one hand for a ten count, regular, do the other side, regular, then each foot. I did that twice. Finally some handstands supported by the wall. That’s it.

Last day

One last day of vacation, surprisingly, I’m not sure what to do with myself.

Food wise, I did oatmeal for breakfast but found myself famished by 8am. I was out running errands and had hit a dead zone between the errands I could run and the errands I still needed to run but weren’t open yet, I went for a bagel with some cream cheese and a coffee. While there I saw that the bagel place served a tuna melt and thought I could probably make one of those at home for lunch. I stopped by the grocery store and picked up a can of salmon, I considered tuna but salmon sounded even better. I toasted some bread, threw the salmon on top and threw some Kraft American “cheese” on top and stuck it under the broiler. It was delicious but probably more calories than I should have had. I’ll try to not use the whole can int he future but I could see myself having that meal again. Dinner will be an Amy’s pizza (in the freezer section). It’s a tasty quick meal, they’re smaller than most frozen pizzas so probably not quite as caloric.

I’m feeling a bit sluggish from training but I wouldn’t describe it as sore, I assume that the metered return to training I have tried to take is paying off. I haven’t decided about training for today yet. I count the last two days as a success. If I do train this afternoon, I’ll probably take tomorrow off.
