Conversation
Sometimes, some people are just better than you at some things. The below conversation is what got me motivated to quit whining and train again. I am grateful to Brian for this:

Just wanted to let you guys know I hit 405 X 5 on
squats. I haven’t focused heavily on the squat,
instead choosing deads and the events, but it felt
pretty good.

Well I’m relatively insane, so that’s part of the
problem.
Are you competing in April?

Brian,
No, I had a craptastic training fall and winter. Realizing that I’m talking to a guy who has a cadaver tendon in his knee, which is far worse than anything I dealt with, I’m not gonna complain too much. Long story, short, I wasn’t at all motivated when the announcements came out and I’m pretty certain I blew past the entry dates.
That said. I think I’m all healthy and ready to go and your squats have motivated me. I’m shooting for a 1400 combined weight on the three powerlifts at a bodyweight below 230 for this year. I’m sure you’ll surpass it but that’ll just keep me moving.
Keep me informed on your training.
One of these days I need to scan this awesome picture I have, me with the keg at the first comp, you behind me giving a thumbs up. I’ll send you a copy when i get it scanned.

So congrats to Brian and thanks for the kick in the butt. I appreciate it.
And yes, he is certifiably insane, just ask him, he’ll tell you all about it 🙂

Getting Stronger – things are looking good for you – time to hit at least one of those goals you wrote down here before long!

Chris,
I couldn’t agree more.
