So hungry…
I’m surprised but I have been really hungry today. The only change, protein.
Last evening I bought a jug of Optimum Nutrition’s 100% Casein mix. This morning I fired up the blender about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of frozen berries and some ice cues. The berries blended well but when I added in the ice cubes I messed it up. All the protein seemed to coalesce around the cubes. So that made ‘drinking’ my shake interesting. I think I will skip the cubes tomorrow.
After I drank my shake at about 7-7:30ish, I was full, really full. It was tasty and satisfying but I was wondering if I would get all my packed meals in today. Then, about 10 am it hit. I was hungry, really hungry. So I ate my salad. That did almost nothing. 20 minutes later I ate my main entree item. Then I made myself wait an hour, no matter what. About 1pm I threw down my nuts and berries, the last of the food I had for the day. After work I hit the gym which always curbs my appetite for a bit but by the time I got home I was ready to eat, so I made dinner. I’m still struggling to not pig out.
This protein drink experiment may be interesting.
Today I went to Dumbarton (where I usually go on Fridays) rather than UB.

Cravings and hunger were literally a constant for me earlier this year. They were signals that I was depriving myself of the foods I’ve eaten HABITUALLY all my life – for example, pizza, potatos and breads. After 3 or 4 months of “suffering” I was delivered to other side. Now I have to go out of my way to eat things I used to – the desire just isn’t there.

That must be it. I was surprised by it considering that I had really added calories rather than taken them away.
